KORY K. SHIMEK

Kory K. Shimek was born and raised the beautiful Leelanau County, MI, home of the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Lakeshore – the most beautiful place in America. He learned the value of hard work at an early age, working every year on his family’s cherry farm. Kory attended Glen Lake High school where he played varsity football and basketball. He received his Bachelors of Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship from Davenport University in August 2010. Kory received his Juris Doctor in January 2014 from Thomas M. Cooley Law School with Cum Laude honors. While in law school Kory worked as a paralegal specializing in bankruptcy and family law. Kory opened Shimek Law Firm in May of 2014, and has handled hundreds of cases in multiple areas of the law since then. He has a wide variety of litigation experience, and has handled cases in Wayne, Monroe, Washtenaw, Lenawee, Macomb, Oakland, Livingston and Newaygo Counties. When not practicing law, Kory enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife Jennifer and their daughter Madison. He also enjoys and very much appreciates spending as much time as he can in the outdoors while hiking, running, biking, fishing, hunting, and camping.
